Summary: Angels fall

They were once men. Then troublesome Fate and Destiny muddled in the crystalline pools of their souls. An entity which thought itself to be The Almighty had messed with things better left to the gods. Thus, these that were once men became angels through no doing of their own save for one.
The first became an Angel of Discontent. Like the season of autumn he slowly leeched away the light of the others. His shadows brought with them doubt. His wing was black like the despair he ultimately brought upon them all. He dared to question his gift from the Goddess and thus, from grace he fell.
The second became an Angel of Doubt. His wing was the white purity of his soul. Purity overshadowed by doubt. This one’s doubt was only for himself. He began to question that which was his humanity. The belief that he’d become a monster brought discord to his dreams. He questioned himself and thus he fell.
The third became an Angel of Rage. The lies of his existence tore him apart. In his wrath he needed to destroy everything that had betrayed him, including the angels he once called comrades. His wing was the deepest black shade of his hatred. Discontent and Doubt sang to his soul but he did not hear. He heard only his own song of revenge. He did not question his hatred; in his arrogance he questioned nothing and thus he fell.
The fourth became an Angel of Hope. He felt the others fall as though it were himself each time. He felt their discontent, their doubt, their rage but the light of his soul was brighter than the shadows they cast upon him. The fullness with which he lived life left no room for discontent. He believed too strongly for doubt. He loved too deeply for rage. This one was sacrificed for selflessness. It was for dreams continued, for hope carried forth that this one true angel fell.
The Song of Angels has been heard, will continue to be heard. Forevermore it will resonate within the Planet; it will drift within the Lifestream. As mortals there are those who will remember and some who will forget. It is the nature of mortals to pass judgment upon others. Before passing judgment on these angels one thing should be remembered; they were once men.
